When a high quality, pure and repetitive production process is requested, Inspecta helps in proving the absence of unintentionally added substances with a close control.
With Inspecta, the analysis is automatic: its software manages all the main functions and settings, operates the instrument, calculates calibration curves and it produces a detailed and clear report that summarises all relevant data and working parameters. This allows the line operators to directly perform the examination process.
Inspecta can be installed close to the production area, with no need for sample collection and transport to a laboratory. The analysis gets aligned to the production timing, allowing for real time results and prompt corrective actions, if needed, with concrete cost savings.
Inspecta in drying process
Acetaldehyde is a colourless volatile with a fruity smell which arises as a by-product of PET thermal degradation by oxidation of the vinyl end group of the polymer chain. In PET bottles, AA is usually present at a few ppm concentration, which is slowly desorbed into the bottle content, altering its taste and aroma.
Benzene is a colourless liquid with a sweet smell which arises as a by-product of PET and Chlorine triggered by processing temperatures. Chlorinated substances decompose at elevated temperature to hydrochloric acid. Basic and acid compounds can catalyse the rearrangement of terephthalic groups in Benzene and CO2 gas. Chlorine is in PVC and its presence in rPET originates from sorting mistakes and packaging components.
